Police investigating north Phoenix park for homicide after finding dead body

PHOENIX — Police are investigating a north Phoenix park for homicide after discovering a dead body in the area, authorities announced Sunday.

Phoenix Police Department officers responded to a park near 23rd Avenue and Cactus Road around 7 a.m. on Saturday. After they found the remains of a man’s body, detectives took over the investigation.

Detectives said the man, identified as 47-year-old Nazario Lopez-Felix on Sunday, had marks of “suspicious trauma.”

This remains an active investigation.
