PHOENIX — Police are asking the public for information about a shooting that took place in the parking lot of a Gilbert restaurant over the weekend.

The incident happened at Sandbar Mexican Grill near Williams Field Road and Santan Village Parkway around 1 a.m. on Sunday, the Gilbert Police Department said Monday in a press release.

A large altercation broke out, leading to multiple shots being fired in the parking lot by suspects in a vehicle before the fled the scene, police said.

There were no shooting victims at the scene but officers were later notified about a 27-year-old man who had injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

It was the second shooting to happen at the restaurant this year.

On May 8, a man was shot twice and hospitalized with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

No suspects have been arrested in either shooting.

Anybody with information about the case was asked to call the Gilbert Police Department at 480-503-6500 or submit a tip online.

We want to hear from you.
