PHOENIX — After a wet and cool start to the year, Phoenix experienced its first 100-degree day of the year on Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, the 100-degree temperature was recorded at 3:10 p.m. The high temperature reached 100 degrees on the day.
Last year, Phoenix hit triple digits for the first time on April 30 and the last time on Oct. 21. The earliest the city has ever hit the 100-degree mark is March 26, 1988. The city average for its first triple-digit day is May 2.
