Phoenix Pride festival returns in November after more than 2 years of pandemic-related delays

PHOENIX — After more than two years of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Phoenix Pride festival and parade will return to the Valley next month.
The festival which celebrates people coming together in love and friendship will take place at Steele-Indian School Park in Phoenix Nov. 6-7 from noon to 9 p.m. both days.
Meanwhile, the parade will be held Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. along Third Street in downtown Phoenix, moving north from Thomas Road to Indian School Road.
“It’s been a long time coming, but we are finally in the final countdown to our 40th parade and festival, and we are beyond excited to reunite our entire community for Arizona’s signature annual Pride event,” Phoenix Pride Executive Director Mike Fornelli said in a press release.
“The extra time we have had to prepare for this event had allowed us to enhance it in ways that we never have before, and we are looking forward to what we are certain will be the most memorable — and most meaningful — Pride Festival and Parade in Phoenix history.”
In the weeks leading up to the events, numerous LGBTQ community events have been scheduled as part of the “Fall into Pride” series.
The organizations said its headliners for the Circle K main stage include Neon Trees, Deborah Cox, Jody Watley and RuPaul Puerto Rican Drag Show.
“For many in our community, this is more than just a parade and festival; It is the one place, the one time of the year, when they can fully express who they are, and that is a critical factor for the health and wellbeing of our community members,” President of the Phoenix Pride Board of Directors Landen C.L. Smith said in the release.
