Phoenix man sentenced to 10 years in prison for child exploitation

Dec 7, 2022, 4:25 AM

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison last week for child exploitation offenses, authorities said.

Henry Salome Ramos, 38, previously plead guilty to distributing and possessing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

When Ramos is released, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be on lifetime supervised release.

An investigation into Ramos began in March 2020 after agents found text messages between him and a human smuggler, Robert Allen Yost, which revealed child exploitation content.

Authorities said Yost had offered Ramos methamphetamine in exchange for sexual access to a child.

Yost was later sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for his offenses.

The Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Border Patrol investigated the case.
