PHOENIX — A man who was riding his skateboard in Peoria died after a truck crashed into him last Sunday, authorities said.

The crash took place in the area of Terramar Boulevard and 73rd Drive after the man didn’t stop while crossing the intersection, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Teams with Peoria Fire-Medical responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m.

Truck collided into Peoria man riding his skateboard

The skateboarder, 20-year-old Dylan Bartlett, was brought to a local hospital after the 2019 white Dodge Ram truck collided with him. There Bartlett was pronounced dead.

The truck driver was not injured and stayed on the scene throughout the investigation.

The investigation caused an hourslong road closure that was lifted around 9:15 p.m.
