PHOENIX — The northbound left lane of State Route 87 reopened Saturday north of Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The northbound right lane is still closed as of 7:49 p.m., according to ADOT.

ADOT announced the initial closure of the highway at 1:24 p.m. The northbound lanes were closed due to a brushfire at milepost 210, past Sunset Lookout on the way to Sunflower.

There is no estimated time to reopen the right lane, ADOT said. The southbound lanes are unaffected.

Motorists leaving the valley towards Payson should expect delays and may consider seeking an alternate route.
