The northbound lanes of Interstate 17 reopened Saturday north of Anthem, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT announced the closure around 3:30 p.m. One northbound lane reopened around 5 p.m., and both lanes were back open before 10 p.m.

A brush fire near milepost 238 and Table Mesa Road caused the initial closure, authorities said.

The southbound lanes were unaffected.

Motorists leaving the valley towards Prescott and Flagstaff were advised to expect delays and may consider seeking an alternate route.
