New Arizona poll shows Buttigieg, Biden in statistical tie with Trump

PHOENIX — A new poll of Arizona voters shows a statistical dead heat between Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.
According to an OH Predictive Insights poll released Monday, Trump leads the Indiana mayor 45%-43%, while Biden trails the president by a similar margin, 46%-44%. The undecided votes range from 10%-12%.
“Depending on who Democrats select as their nominee, the Grand Canyon State may be in for one of the tightest presidential races in memory,” Mike Noble, chief of research and managing partner of Phoenix-based research company OH Predictive Insights said in a press release.
“The biggest surprise is that of the steady rise of Buttigieg in the last six months – the big ‘MO’ is on the South Bend mayor’s side.”

Behind both Buttigieg and Biden is Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who trails Trump 47%-41% after coming within one point of the president in August. Trump has also seen an increase over Sen. Bernie Sanders, leading 47%-34%.
Against any of the Democratic frontrunners, Trump does not cross the 50% threshold, sitting between 45% and 47%, indicating a clear split among Arizonans. The Democratic level of support ranges from 34% to 44%.
Trump’s approval rating sat at 48%, down two points, while 50% disapproved of him. 1% of the 628 participants was unsure.

The poll was conducted on Dec. 3-4 and has a margin of error of 4%.
