PHOENIX – Three men suspected of pulling off a series of ATM thefts in the East Valley were arrested earlier this month, police in Mesa said.

The Mesa Police Department said Thursday they watched 57-year-old Mark Bryant, 53-year-old Brian Groce and 41-year-old Patrick Intintoli free an ATM from a Pinal County credit union on May 5 using construction equipment two of the men had stolen, also witnessed by authorities.

Police said in a press release the burglaries began in November 2021. Construction machines were left behind at two businesses in Mesa and one in Tempe where ATMs or safes had been taken. The equipment and cash machines were found at various locations.

Surveillance video from one of the burglaries revealed a suspect wearing black and white gloves. Police found one of the gloves at the scene next to a piece of construction equipment and used the DNA collected to identify Intintoli, they said.

Detective began monitoring Intintoli’s activities and on May 5 said he, Bryant and Groce drove away from a home in Mesa in two cars.

Police followed them and said the three stole a trailer from a parking lot and hooked it to one of their vehicles. Then they went to a construction site and stole a tractor.

The trio allegedly made their way to a Pinal County credit union, where police said they hoisted the ATM out of the ground, loaded it onto the trailer and drove back to Mesa. They left the tractor behind.

Groce and Intintoli were taken into custody after Groce returned to a Mesa address with a saw and blades from a home improvement store. Bryant was found at a home nearby and arrested.

Mesa police said they are working with other area law enforcement to see if more charges are applicable.
