PHOENIX — The Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix has received top honors as one of the best hospitals in the country and the world.
Mayo Clinic, near 56th Street and the Loop 101 Pima Freeway, came in at No. 41 on Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals 2021.
Among hospitals in the U.S., the facility ranked No. 12.
Two other Arizona hospitals also placed on the U.S. list, with Banner University Medical Center in Tucson at No. 234 and Dignity Health – Mercy Gilbert Medical Center at No. 302.
The rankings, released on Wednesday, are compiled through three data sources: medical key performance indicators, patient survey results and recommendations from medical experts.
The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, took the No. 1 spot among both global and U.S. hospitals.
In total, 2,000 hospitals across 25 countries were named in Newsweek’s collection of lists.
