Maricopa County reveals voting locations, hours of operation for 2022 primary election

PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Elections Department has revealed the sites and schedules for the 200-plus voting locations it will use in the 2022 primary election.
Early voting begins on July 6, the day Arizona’s largest county starts sending out mail ballots to registered voters who requested them or are on the Active Early Voting List. Election Day is Aug. 2.
Ten in-person voting centers will open July 6 along with 15 drop boxes inside government buildings across the Valley and one 24-hour drop box outside the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center in downtown Phoenix.
About 40 more voting centers will open on July 22. Sixty-plus more will be available on Aug. 1, and the full contingent will be up and running for Election Day.

Overall, the county will have about 120 more voting centers to choose from in the primary than they did in 2020.

“More voting locations equals lower waiting times equals closer locations,” Recorder Stephen Richer told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show earlier this month.
Maricopa County voters can find a site by searching on an address online or by picking from a spreadsheet that lists all the locations and their days and times operation. Some locations will have Saturday hours.
Residents can cast their ballot in person at any location or submit mail ballots at a drop box or via the U.S. Postal Service.
The indoor drop boxes will be accessible only during business hours at the buildings. A live video feed of the 24-hour drop box can be viewed on the county elections department website.
Election officials say voters opting for the mail method should send their ballots in by July 26. They must arrive by 7 p.m. Election Day, when the polls close, to be counted.
Military and overseas ballots were mailed out on July 18.
July 5 is the registration deadline to be eligible to vote in the primary, while July 22 is the last day to request a mail ballot.
