Man struck, killed in south Phoenix hit and run on Friday night

PHOENIX — A man was struck and killed in a hit and run collision in south Phoenix on Friday night.

According to police, the collision occurred at Seventh and Southern avenues around 6:30 p.m.

Authorities said that 39-year-old Erandi Jimenez was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The vehicle immediately left the scene of the collision and there are no witnesses to the incident, police said.

The vehicle in question is described as being gray or silver in color.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.

No additional information was made immediately available.
