PHOENIX — One lucky lottery player who bought a ticket from a Mesa grocery store won the jackpot of a lifetime.

A ticket for The Pick game purchased at the Bashas near Brown and Ellsworth roads matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing to win the big prize. The winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 17, 31 and 41.

The prize? A $7.8 million jackpot.

Drawings for The Pick are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Each entry costs $1.

The odds of hitting the jackpot, which resets to $1 million after a win, are 1 in 7,059,052.

Aside from the lucky lottery player in Mesa, who else won?

The jackpot winner was one of several Arizonans who won big monetary rewards over the weekend.

The winner with the second biggest pot of gold won the $50,000 Powerball. That ticket was sold at the Safeway at Ironwood Hill Drive and Grant Road in Tucson.

The winning numbers were 14, 34, 37, 55 and 63, with a red Powerball of 20.

Powerball tickets are available for $2 per entry at over 3,000 Arizona Lottery retail locations throughout the state. Drawings are held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights.

The game is sanctioned in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Smaller winnings for other Arizona lottery players

After that, three Mega Millions players nabbed $10,000 prizes during Friday’s drawings. They bought their winning tickets from these locations:

  • Shop N Save Market at Broadway Road and 35th Avenue in Phoenix.
  • Circle K at at Osborn Road and 16th Street in Phoenix.
  • Fry’s Marketplace at Ellsworth and Riggs Road in Queen Creek.

Arizona Lottery winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

One lucky lottery player could win $800 million

There are big wins on the horizon. As of Monday, the Mega Millions jackpot has swelled to a mighty $800 million.

The next drawing for this prize will take place Tuesday night.

This rolling jackpot is the seventh highest in Mega Millions history.
