PHOENIX — Lime expanded its electric transportation services in the Valley with the launch of e-bikes in Scottsdale this week.
Dozens of electric bicycles rolled out onto the streets, with up to 100 expected to land in the coming days, according to a press release.
“Lime’s goal is to support Arizona cities, their residents and visitors with safe, affordable and sustainable transportation options in the form of shared electric vehicles,” Justin Ireland, operations manager, said in the release.
Lime worked with the city of Scottsdale, local businesses and community partners to launch the e-bikes.
“We know a big part of this program’s success will be based on ensuring people ride safely and park responsibly, so we’ll be communicating with and educating riders on an ongoing basis and working with the city to ensure a smooth rollout,” Ireland said.
The company also has e-bikes and e-scooters in Phoenix, which re-launched in July.
The recent launch came with an updated version of scooters after Lime stopped business in the city in 2020 due to the struggle to attain profitability.
