PHOENIX – The big field of Democrats running for president still has a long way to go catch Joe Biden in Arizona, according to a new poll.

An OH Predictive Insights survey of 260 likely Democratic primary voters put the former two-term vice president ahead of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, 29% to 18%. Sen. Bernie Sanders finished third at 16%.

The party has 18 candidates, led by Biden, Warren and Sanders.

“Despite the historically large Democratic Primary field, it’s actually a three-way race in Arizona,” Mike Noble, of the Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights, said in a statement.

Biden did well in Maricopa County, favored by 32% of the respondents. In Pima County, which trails only Maricopa in state population, he and Sanders tied with 27% apiece.

Warren pulled in 17% in Maricopa County and 13% in Pima County.

In all other counties combined, Warren had 24%, topping Biden and Sanders.

The online poll had a margin of error of 6% and was taken Oct. 31-Nov. 8.

The top 10 candidates will square off in the fifth debate Wednesday night in Atlanta.

Besides the front-running trio, Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.); Sen. Cory Booker (New Jersey); Sen. Amy Klobacher (Minn.); Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii); South Bend, Indiana’s Mayor Pete Buttigieg; entrepreneur Andrew Yang; and billionaire philanthropist/environmentalist Tom Steyer were scheduled to take the stage.
