U.S. Senate candidates Kyrsten Sinema, left, and Martha McSally will face off in a debate Oct. 15.

PHOENIX – The great debate debate of 2018 is over.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Martha McSally announced Monday she has accepted an invitation to a debate with Democrat Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona on Oct. 15, settling a peculiar campaign conflict.

The hourlong debate, which starts at 6 p.m., will be held at the Arizona PBS Studios in downtown Phoenix.

It will be televised live on Arizona PBS and streamed at the station’s website.

The two U.S. congresswomen are running for the seat currently held by Jeff Flake, who is not seeking re-election.

On Sept. 14, Sinema agreed to appear at the Arizona PBS/Arizona Republic debate on Oct. 15.

A week later, McSally agreed to a CNN debate the same day.

With McSally now deciding the take part in the Arizona debate, the conflict is settled.

Sinema had also agreed to an Oct. 16 debate in Tucson hosted by Arizona Public Media. The press release issued by McSally’s campaign Monday did not mention that event.
