PHOENIX – One of six inmates who escaped from an eastern Arizona jail over the weekend remains at large, authorities said.
By Sunday morning, Brandon Sanchez was the only escapee from the White Mountain Apache Tribe jail in Whiteriver who hadn’t been captured.
Anybody with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the White Mountain Apache Police Department at 928-338-4942.
Police didn’t immediately release any information on how the men escaped, if they all worked to escape together and where they were recaptured.
When were other inmates who escaped captured?
The six inmates escaped from a detention center around 8 p.m. Saturday. Shaquille Ivins, Isaiah Kindelay and Tyrien Thompson were back in custody within 2½ hours.
Julian Thomas was captured by around midnight, and Rio Joplin was back in custody by 8 a.m. Sunday.
Police didn’t say how long each inmate had been in jail and for what offenses.
Whiteriver is about 180 mile northeast of downtown Phoenix and about 70 miles west of the Arizona-New Mexico border.
