PHOENIX — An exhibition that takes people through the life of iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is set to make its U.S. debut in Phoenix next month.

Tickets are available online for “Frida Kahlo, An Immersive Biography,” which begins July 13 at Walter Where?House at 702 N. 21st Ave. (NOTE: The exhibition was originally scheduled to start July 8 but was pushed back because of what organizers called “unexpected production delays.”)

Admission starts at $34.99 for adults, but there are discounts available for students, children and families.

“The story of Frida Kahlo, one of the most influential artists in history, showcases a unique combination of digital art, historical photographs, projections and installations accompanied by virtual reality experiences that reproduce the most relevant moments of her life and work,” organizers said in a press release.

The walk-through exhibition has seven transformational spaces and also includes original films and newly created music for the experience, according to the official website.

The exhibition is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

People should expect the experience to take around 90 minutes, according to the website.

The exhibition, which comes to the U.S. after a successful stint in Canada and Europe, will also make a tour stop in Salt Lake City, San Diego, Portland, St. Louis, Miami and New York City before moving on to Latin America.
