Human remains found at Glen Canyon Dam Overlook in northern Arizona

PHOENIX — Human remains were found at the base of Glen Canyon Dam Overlook in northern Arizona over the weekend, authorities said.

Officers from Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office discovered the remains on Sunday while recovering the body of an unrelated fatality in a similar location.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and National Park Service have started an investigation into the incident.

No other information was immediately available and authorities said they would provide an update when there is more information.

The Glen Canyon Dam Overlook is located near Page, Arizona, and is about 10 miles from the Utah border.
