PHOENIX – Heritage Park, the highly anticipated mixed-use development in downtown Gilbert, has its first tenant: a Nebraska-based restaurant group.
Flagship Restaurant Group signed a lease for approximately 14,000 feet of space in Heritage Park and will use it to open three dining concepts, the project’s developers announced Monday.
Real estate firms Creation and Crescent Communities are partnering to develop Heritage Park on a 10-acre parcel on the west side of Gilbert Road between the Western Powerline Trail and Juniper Road.
The property sits on the northern edge of Gilbert’s Heritage District, which has established itself over the years as one of the East Valley’s top dining and entertainment destinations.
“Heritage Park builds on our years of work in the neighborhood, creating a central space that reflects Gilbert’s character and brings people together,” David Sellers, co-founder of Creation, said in a press release. “We’re excited to see this project come to life and welcome Flagship Restaurant Group, whose innovative concepts and dedication to quality will elevate the dining and social experiences in the East Valley.”
Flagship Restaurant Group isn’t new to Phoenix area
Flagship Restaurant Group is based in Omaha but already has a substantial local presence with several Phoenix establishments: Châm Pang Lanes, Ghost Donkey, Pyro and Palma.
In addition, the company is bringing a Blue Sushi Sake Grill to Tempe’s Novus Place development, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
Monday’s announcement didn’t specify which concepts are coming to Gilbert.
When will construction start on Heritage Park?
Construction on Heritage Park is expected to begin early next year. There was no estimate for when the restaurants and other elements will open.
The first phase of the project will include retail and restaurant space, a 288-residence multifamily community, over 300 surface parking spaces and a 17,500-square-foot public square with water features, public art and paths for walking and biking.
Later phases will add a 125-room hotel, office space and more parking.
“Our goal is to create a destination that enhances the community, serving as a dynamic hub for social and economic activity in the East Valley, and we’re looking forward to contributing to the growth and vitality of this thriving region throughout the coming years,” Sagar Rathie, managing director for Crescent Communities, said in the release.
