PHOENIX — The group behind the popular Maple & Ash steakhouse at the Scottsdale Waterfront will open another restaurant in the city later this year, the company announced.

Coming to the Scottsdale Quarter, “etta” will focus on wood-fired dishes and be led by two-time Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant.

“We are thrilled to expand our restaurant portfolio in the Scottsdale market as we’ve been incredibly happy with how Maple & Ash has been received by the community at large,” David Pisor, managing partner of the hospitality group What If Syndicate, said in a press release.

“We are truly impressed with the vision behind Scottsdale Quarter and value our partnership with Washington Prime.”

Set to open in the fall, the 8,000-square-foot restaurant at 15301 N. Scottsdale Rd. will have an outdoor patio and an indoor trellis to create a garden-like atmosphere, according to the release.

The menu features locally sourced and seasonal fare cooked over a wood-fired oven including pizzas, freshly made focaccia, house-made pastas and fresh salads.

“Etta” has two Chicago locations, with plans to open additional restaurants in California, Texas and Florida to go along with the new location in Scottsdale, according to the official website.

Maple & Ash, the hospitality group’s first restaurant, opened in 2019.
