PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs will appear at a special Memorial Day ceremony on Monday to honor military service members, veterans and their families.

The governor is scheduled to address the crowd at the VA National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and will later deliver a proclamation in honor of the holiday.

Hobbs will be joined by National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona Director Randy Heard, Honoring America’s Veterans President of the Board Dale Villani and Gold Star Mother Diana Pike.

The ceremony is set to begin at 8 a.m.

Will flags be lowered to half-staff for Memorial Day?

Gov. Hobbs has ordered that all flags at state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until noon on Monday to pay tribute to fallen service members.

After noon, each flag should be raised to full staff to honor the veterans who are still living.

Other community members, businesses and organizations with American flags are encouraged to follow the same procedure.

We want to hear from you.
