PHOENIX – Glendale police are asking for the public’s help as they work to solve a homicide that took place over the weekend.

Reydesel “Ray” Parra, 55, was fatally shot near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road on Sunday night, the Glendale Police Department said Tuesday in a press release.

Officers responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported hearing a man screaming and a gunshot.

They found Parra with a gunshot wound near an apartment stairwell. Parra, the owner of Ray’s European Garage in Phoenix, died after being taken to a hospital.

No other details were made available.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 623-930-3000 or, to remain anonymous, Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish.

We want to hear from you.
