PHOENIX – Police have arrested a suspect in one of a recent spate of suspected road rage shootings in the West Valley.

Adam Scott Delk, 40, was taken custody without incident Tuesday and booked on counts of drive-by shooting, aggravated assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm, the Glendale Police Department said in a press release Wednesday.

Delk is accused of shooting a man near 67th and Peoria avenues around 3 p.m. on Oct. 20.

The victim, who sustained injuries that weren’t life-threatening, said Delk had followed him home. He wasn’t sure why, but thinks it might have been related to an incident on the roadway, police said.

The man and his adult son approached Delk, who was parked across the street from their residence. Delk allegedly shot the man and drove off.

Detectives identified Delk as the suspect and found the gun used in the shooting at a pawn shop, police said.

The incident was one of three suspected road rage cases that occurred in the area over a two-day period last week.

Police in Peoria are investigating the other two cases, which took place Oct. 20 and 21.

“It could be what I call copycats,” Alberto Gutier, director of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, told KTAR News 92.3 FM last week.

“It also could be just the time we live in right now. There is less traffic on the roads, supposedly, but still people are driving very fast. Everybody’s in a hurry, and those are the kind of things that lead to some kind of road rage incident.”

We want to hear from you.
