Glendale offering free entertainment series with music, comedy, food trucks

PHOENIX — A free entertainment series with music, comedy and food trucks is returning to a downtown Glendale park in October.

LiVE! @ Murphy Park will go for 13 nights at the park located near 58th and Glendale avenues, according to a press release.

Entertainment will run Thursdays through Saturdays throughout the month starting at 7 p.m.

The first night of the series is scheduled for Oct. 1 with Reggae band Black Bottom Lighters.

A variety of bands will perform during the series, which ends Oct. 29.

One of the nights — Oct. 15 — will be a comedy night.

Here’s the full list of performers:

  • Oct. 1: Black Bottom Lighters (reggae)
  • Oct. 6: Soul Persuasion (R&B/oldies)
  • Oct. 7: Santa Pachita (Latin fusion)
  • Oct. 8: Fortunate Son (Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band; rock/folk)
  • Oct. 13: Brea Burns & The Boleros (country)
  • Oct. 14: Shine on Floyd (Pink Floyd tribute band; rock)
  • Oct. 15: Comedy Night
  • Oct. 20: Group El Regreso (Latin/cumbia)
  • Oct. 21: The Senators (Indie folk)
  • Oct. 22: Surfin’ (The Beach Boys tribute band; rock/pop)
  • Oct. 27: Outside the Line (Motown soul)
  • Oct. 28: Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra (Afrobeat)
  • Oct. 29: STUDIO 54 — The Disco Explosion (’70s)

Food trucks will be on location each night and will sell beer and hard seltzers.

It’s the fourth time in the past two years that Glendale has put on the entertainment series at Murphy Park.

The city held events in May 2021, October 2021 and February 2022.
