PHOENIX – A Scottsdale man suspected of killing his wife and kids in 2002 no longer meets the criteria to be on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List, the agency announced Wednesday.

Robert William Fisher is the 11th person taken off the TMWFL while still at large since the list was established in 1950, the FBI said, although the investigation into the case remains active.

Fisher is accused of killing 38-year-old Mary Fisher, 13-year-old Brittney and 10-year-old Robert Jr. and blowing up the family’s house on April 10, 2001.

Fisher, who was born in 1961, hasn’t been seen since. He was placed on the FBI list on June 29, 2002.

“One of the criteria for placement on the TMWFL is the need for publicity to help locate and capture the subject,” the FBI said in a press release.

“Because the extensive publicity Fisher’s case received during its nearly 20 years on the list has not resulted in his successful location and/or capture, the case no longer fulfills that requirement.”

The FBI also said the case no longer meets the criteria because there is no evidence Fisher presents an ongoing danger to the community.

Information about Fisher’s case was moved to the FBI website’s murders section.

In place of Fisher, the FBI placed Yulan Adonay Archaga Carias on the TMWFL. The alleged leader of the MS-13 gang for Honduras is the 526th addition to the list.
