Ducey gives update on coronavirus, new testing facilities in Arizona

PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey updated the public on the coronavirus outbreak in Arizona — along with advances in the state’s testing capabilities — during a press conference in Tucson on Tuesday.
After meeting with chief medical officers in Tucson and Phoenix hospitals, Ducey said that Banner Health and Sonora Quest opened their first patient testing site on Monday.
Ducey then told Arizonans that more testing sites will soon be available throughout the state.
In addition, medical groups such as LabCorp, TGen and the Mayo Clinic have also joined the effort to conduct COVID-19 testing in Arizona, the governor said.
Ducey then thanked community leaders, nonprofits, law enforcement officials, faith-based communities, medical staff and grocery store workers “for holding our community and our state together.”

“Finally, I want to resassure Arizonans: We’re going to get through this and we’re going to get through this together,” Ducey continued.
“There’s a lot of work to do, and as you can see here today we’re dedicated to getting it done together in partnership.”
