PHOENIX — As part of the recently launched National Cinema Day, single-movie ticket prices at many box offices will be sold for $3 on Saturday.
Dozens of theaters around the Valley will participate in the national event in hopes to attract moviegoers and fanatics alike as box offices during Labor Day weekend tend to bring little visitors.
Major film studios including Harkins Theaters, AMC and Regal Cinemas will participate, as well as Majestic Theaters, Cinemark Theatres and Picture Show Entertainment.
The single-movie prices will apply to every movie, showtime and format, with some chains offering discounts on beverages and snacks.
While AMC will offer a $5 fountain and drink popcorn combo, places like Harkins and Cinemark will offer $3 medium beverages and popcorn.
Hits like “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Jurassic World: Dominion” and “Elvis,” are set to light up the big screens, as well as throwback classics like “Jaws.”
“For 89 years, we have been proud to provide our guests with the ultimate moviegoing experience,” Dan Harkins, owner of Harkins Theatres, said in a press release. “We are thrilled to celebrate our love of cinema on National Cinema Day.”
Tickets can be purchased in advance online at each theater’s website.
