PHOENIX — A Mesa library is in the final stages of getting upgrades, forcing it to close for two weeks in December for construction work.
Renovations at Dobson Ranch Library, located on Dobson Road between Baseline and Guadalupe roads, will begin Saturday and run until Dec. 17, according to a press release.
The city is finishing up façade improvements and the addition of the THINKspot marketplace.
Work during the closure will allow crews to complete the construction of the hardscapes leading to the front entrance.
The changes, which are expected to be completed early next year, will allow greater visibility and convenience for library patrons.
Construction began in February and will expand the library’s size by about 1,600 square feet.
It is the largest renovation to the library since it opened in 1987.
Funding for the project comes from the Parks and Culture Bonds issue approved by city voters in 2018.
