PHOENIX — Developers of an upscale senior living community in north Phoenix broke ground on Monday.

Liv+ Union Peak, with an anticipated 145 units, will be located on the northeast corner of Happy Valley Road and Norterra Parkway, developers said in a press release.

Leasing for residents ages 55 and older is expected to begin in the late summer or early fall of 2024, Liv Communities said.

The resort-style community will provide options for apartment-style housing and larger casitas.

Each unit is set to include energy efficient appliances and smart home technology.

There will also be a clubhouse, a pool house, a private dog park, a gym and outdoor spaces for various fitness activities across the eight-acre community.

It will be the first senior living development for Liv Communities.

“We understand the desire to stay vibrant longer, while enjoying life with others that share your passions and energy,” Heidi Arave-Noon, vice president of Liv Multifamily, said in the release.

“Liv is thrilled to enter the 55+ age qualified housing space with our focus on mind, body, spirit health and community centric programs designed to help people thrive and live life to its fullest.”

Todd and Associates designed the community while general contractor MT Builders will oversee construction.

There are 11 other Liv Community locations scattered across the Valley, with one 360-unit location in Laveen projected to open next year.

We want to hear from you.
