Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale releases details on $42 million renovations

PHOENIX — Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale has released details on a $42 million transformation from a sports arena into a music and entertainment complex.

“Desert Diamond Arena’s $42 million renovation is a transformative investment, solidifying Glendale as a premier entertainment destination in the Southwest,” Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps said in a press release.

“With state-of-the-art amenities, reimagined suites and expanded programming on par with the newest venues nationwide, we’re delivering unforgettable experiences that drive economic growth, attract top-tier events and fuel local businesses.”

What’s included in Desert Diamond Arena renovations

The former home of the Arizona Coyotes will see 25 modified spaces in the venue, including updated concession stands within the new marketplace section and the creation of the Bassline Bar, which will be open before and after shows.

Once completed, Desert Diamond Arena will have its already existing 53 luxury suites and 12 suite lounge lodges, as well as 22 Encore Club Theatre Boxes, 14 Club 623 Studio Booths and 341 Club Seats in The View, a VIP club within the venue.

The project is led by developer ASM Global in partnership with U.K.-based Forward Associates.

“This transformation celebrates Desert Diamond Arena’s two decades at the heart of Glendale’s thriving entertainment landscape while creating a destination that can draw audiences from across the region and beyond,” ASM Global Executive Vice President Doug Thornton said. 

“The new and improved arena will deliver a first-class experience for every guest, from general admission attendees to premium club members, raising Glendale’s profile as a leading U.S. entertainment district.”

The renovations are expected to be completed by spring of next year.
