PHOENIX — Authorities identified a dead body at the US 60/Grand Avenue overpass that caused a lengthy closure on Friday.

The Phoenix Police Department said they found Paul Myron, 54, with several gunshot injuries lying in a pedestrian walkway.

Officers responded to an alleged stabbing at approximately 6:20 a.m. and closed the section where US 60/Grand Avenues crosses 35th Avenue and Indian School Road.

The crossing was first closed in both directions at around 8 a.m. and the area did not fully reopen until 8 p.m.

No eyewitnesses had been located as of approximately 8:42 p.m. Friday and minimal video surveillance is available, authorities said.
