PHOENIX — Culinary Dropout in Phoenix will swallow up its neighboring sea food location, Little Cleo’s, to make room for expansion.

Located on Seventh Street and Bethany Home Road, the restaurant contains a converted motorcycle garage, which now holds large group gatherings, called The Yard.

Sam Fox, CEO of Fox Restaurant Concepts which owns Culinary Dropout, told the Phoenix Business Journal the demand for the space has become more popular than expected. That’s what made Fox decide it would be best to shut down Little Cleo’s to expand The Yard.

With the additional space, Culinary Dropout will add an additional bar and expand its private dining space.

Opening dates for the expansion have not been determined yet, but Little Cleo’s will close on May 14, the day after Mother’s Day.

Fox also mentioned that the menu items from Little Cleo’s may start to show up at other Fox Restaurant Concepts locations and that the company is actively looking for another space to house Little Cleo’s.

There are six Culinary Dropouts nationwide and a seventh opening soon in Gilbert. Four of the restaurants are located in Arizona with spots in Scottsdale, Tempe and Tucson along with the expanding location in Phoenix.

We want to hear from you.
