PHOENIX — For all the country music lovers in Arizona, the Country Thunder Music Festival has started.

Headliners include Arizona’s own Dierks Bentley, who recently co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards, Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and more will perform through Sunday in Florence.

Tickets are online with prices at $75 each Friday through Sunday. A weekend pass was set at $190.

The festival grounds were scheduled to open Thursday at 2 p.m. The day’s first concert, featuring Brandon Ray, kicked off at 3:30 p.m.

The festival has been coming to Arizona and Wisconsin for the past 23 years.

Tucson.com reported for the first time, the festival was hosting a special benefit concert. The proceeds will go to the T.J. Martell Foundation, a nonprofit that funds cancer and AIDS medical research.

Tickets for a lucky few to attend this small concert featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Robin Zander, which includes backstage passes, are $250.

The attendance last year alone was an estimated 29,000 people and even that fraction would keep Uber busy.

The ride-share company planned to offer a $15-off promo code to users for a ride to the festival.

The Country Thunder Music Festival planned to run in rain, if necessary, but bad weather will not be a problem this weekend.

The weather forecast for the Phoenix area will be pleasant this weekend with Thursday and Friday reaching to temperatures in the 90s. Saturday will be in the mid-80s and Sunday will be in the high 70s.
