PHOENIX – An Arizona man was sentenced to 30 months in prison last week for driving while intoxicated with children in his vehicle and crashing, authorities said.
Frank John Kinale III of Parker pleaded guilty to child abuse in the case on Sept. 3, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
A federal judge ordered the 38-year-old man to the prison time to be followed by three years of supervised release.
Prosecutors said Kinale was behind the wheel while intoxicated on Sept. 21, 2021, and rolled his vehicle, injuring the two minors riding with him.
The crash occurred on the Colorado River Indian Tribes reservation in western Arizona. Kinale and the two victims are tribal members, putting the case under federal jurisdiction.
The FBI and tribal police investigated the case, which was prosecuted by federal authorities in Phoenix.
