Car crashes into Scottsdale bar, seriously injuring 2

PHOENIX – Two women were seriously injured, one left in critical condition, after an SUV crashed into a Scottsdale bar Thursday night.

Police identified the driver, who got out of truck and ran away, as Allami Hussain, 52. He was taken into custody and charged with failing to stay at the scene at DJ’s Bar and Grill, on Stetson Drive near Sixth Avenue.

Witnesses told officers that a black SUV hit the women, who were standing on the sidewalk. The vehicle then smashed into the restaurant.

Police said in an email they found the accused a short distance from the wreckage.

The investigation is ongoing.

No other information was released.
