PHOENIX — Canadian start-up carrier Lynx Air plans to launch a nonstop route between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Calgary next year.

The service will run three times a week starting Feb. 7, the airport announced in a press release Wednesday.

Lynx Air is offering Phoenix-Calgary tickets starting at a base price of $108 Canadian (about $79 U.S. as of Thursday) each way. A la carte options such as carry-ons, checked luggage and priority boarding are available for additional fees.

Lynx, which has a fleet of new Boeing 737s, debuted in May with service between Victoria and Calgary.

Phoenix is one of four U.S. cities that the low-cost carrier will serve from Canada, along with Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Orlando.

“Canada is an essential economic partner and tourism driver for Phoenix, and this new service from Sky Harbor to Calgary means that more people will have a cost-effective choice when they’re looking for a getaway to the Valley of the Sun,” Phoenix Vice Mayor Laura Pastor said in the release.

“It’s another great example of how America’s friendliest airport works to serve all its customers.”
