PHOENIX — Canadian airline Swoop is set to restart winter service next week at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport after international travel restrictions were recently lifted.

Swoop will offer nonstop flights from Winnipeg, Manitoba; Toronto, Ontario; and Edmonton, Alberta, beginning Nov. 1, the East Valley airport announced Tuesday.

The Canadian government dropped its restrictions for international travel last week, making the seasonal flights possible for the first time since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

The twice-weekly flights are available through the end of April and vary on day based on destination.

The carrier offers unbundled travel, with base fares that cover just the seat.

Add-ons such as assigned seating, extended legroom, snacks and checked or carry-on baggage are available for additional fees.

Swoop flies to five U.S. destinations, with San Diego, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada, among the other spots.

We want to hear from you.
