PHOENIX — The body of a California man was found Sunday after a two-day search in Lake Havasu, authorities said.
Michael Dean Phan of Garden Grove, 47, was pulled from about 32 feet of water around 11:15 a.m., the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Deputies received reports that Phan had jumped into the lake near the North Basin on Saturday and never resurfaced, prompting a team of rescue divers to search the area.
Divers were met with winds gusts of up to 40 mph and waves three-feet tall, encountering almost zero visibility underwater, with trees present at the bottom of the lake.
They planned on using sonar technology to continue the search on Sunday.
The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Phan’s cause of death.
