The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. Friday on Route 66 near Black Bird Roost, just west of Milton Road, according to the Flagstaff Police Department. Two young men were seen fleeing the scene afterward.

The victim and suspects were involved in an altercation before the shooting, which police believe was an isolated incident.

A 32-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound that isn’t life-threatening. He was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center in stable condition.
