PHOENIX — Chlorum Solutions USA, a U.S. affiliate of a Brazilian chemical company, announced Tuesday it will open a new plant in Casa Grande, according to a press release.
The new $70 million facility will help with chlor-alkali production in the U.S. along with reducing transportation risks and costs with chlorine.
“Safety and efficiency are top priorities,” CEO Daniel Croce said. “Our small-scale, local model reduces risks and costs associated with transporting liquefied chlorine gas across the country, aligning with increased customer preferences for localized production.”
The construction of the facility will bring jobs to Arizona, including those for contractors and suppliers. The project will also bring permanent positions such as engineers, operators and administrative staff.
“We are delighted to welcome Chlorum Solutions USA to our growing city for their first U.S. plant,” Casa Grande Mayor Lisa Navarro Fitzgibbons said. “With its strategic location between Phoenix and Tucson, Casa Grande stands at the center of the Arizona Innovation and Technology Corridor—a premier destination for business, manufacturing and logistics. Chlorum Solutions USA will thrive here, thanks to the incredible talent and resources our region has to offer.”
The opening date of the facility has yet to be announced.
