16-year-old boy arrested for 1st-degree murder at Mesa trailer park

PHOENIX — A teenager was arrested for the murder of a man at a Mesa trailer park, authorities said Monday.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, abandonment of a dead body and tampering with evidence.
What happened in murder at Mesa trailer park?
Officers responded to the park near McKellips Road and Mesa Drive for a report of a shooting at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 18, according to the Mesa Police Department.
Witnesses said a male shot multiple times at the victim, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a green truck. He then drove away in the vehicle, police said.
The truck was found abandoned near Val Vista Drive and McDowell Road, about 6 miles from the trailer park. The victim’s body and the likely murder weapon were also recovered.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident at an apartment nine days after the murder.
