PHOENIX — Registration is now open to bicycle enthusiasts across the Valley for this year’s Cycle Avondale event scheduled to take place this October.

The 31-mile bike ride event Cycle Avondale, presented by Avondale Toyota, will begin at 7 a.m. Oct. 24 in Friendship Park near Avondale Boulevard just north of Interstate 10.

The day of the event was moved back from its original date of Oct. 3, the city announced.

The half metric route includes at least 10 miles on Phoenix Raceway and will highlight Avondale communities, businesses and facilities, according to a press release.

Once the ride is over, attendees can gather at Friendship Park for music, food and drinks, including local brew vendors 8-Bit Aleworks.

Early registration tickets to the event are selling for $70 through Sept. 13, with prices rising afterward to $85 through Oct. 18. A late registration ticket to the event will sell for $100 and will be accepted until the start of the ride.

Registration fees cover various costs, including a secured bike route in Avondale, 10 laps on the racetrack at Phoenix Raceway, a Cycle Avondale ride bib, ride time, as well as food and beverages.
