PHOENIX — Think deep fried and deep space this year at the Arizona State Fair.

Deep-fried Twix bars were on the menu along with the new attraction Encounters U.F.O. Experience at the fairgounds near downtown Phoenix.

Kristi Walsh with the State Fair said the Twix was sinfully delicious. Vendors will also be selling deep-fried peanut butter and cheesecake covered in bubblegum frosting.

If that sounds otherworldly good, consider the UFO exhibit.

“It’s a $5 additional admission, but it’s awesome. It’s all about alien and UFO sightings and pop culture’s fascination with extraterrestrial life,” Walsh said.

The state fair will be open Wednesdays through Sundays, through Nov. 8 at the fairgrounds near McDowell Road and 19th Avenue.

Last year 1.2 million people attended the fair. Officials hope to top that mark.

We want to hear from you.
