PHOENIX – An Arizona man was sentenced Wednesday to 7½ years in federal prison for helping hide the body of a homicide victim five years ago, authorities said.

Jordan Gene Hoover, 35, of Sacaton, also faces three years of supervised release after he gets out of prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona said in a press release Thursday.

Hoover pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact in February 2021.

Prosecutors say he helped cover up a fatal shooting committed by Gabriel Quinn Enos in August 2017 by throwing the body off a bridge.

Enos was sentenced to 15 years in prison in April of this year after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter. Prosecutors say he shot the victim in the face with a shotgun.

Sacaton is a community on the Gila River Indian Reservation about 35 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix in Pinal County.

The Gila River Police Department and the FBI investigated the case.
