PHOENIX — For anyone considering adding a furry friend to their lives, the Arizona Humane Society is offering an unbeatable deal through the next week.

AHS is waiving adoption fees until Sept. 5 in an effort to clear kennel space, hoping to find homes for more than 300 animals.

Fees will be covered by longtime AHS supporters Stuart and Ted Tufty.

All adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.

Those who adopt a pet will receive a bag of Hill’s Science Diet food and a free follow-up veterinary exam.

Adoptions will be available at both AHS locations — Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix and PetSmart at 4380 N. Miller Road in Scottsdale.

The Phoenix location is open for adoptions from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. The Scottsdale shelter offers adoptions daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All adoptions are by appointment only.

We want to hear from you.
