Arizona Department of Education campaign encourages people to thank teachers

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Education announced on Tuesday the launch of a campaign that encourages people to thank teachers.
People can log on to the organization’s website to submit a note of appreciation and support teachers by donating money for classroom projects. On social media, people can also show their gratitude by using #TYteachers.
The campaign, which also includes television ads, is meant to uplift educators following another school year impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Over the past two years, teachers have gone to extraordinary lengths to meet the needs of the students and families they serve,” Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman said in a press release.
“While some seek to divide our communities, we know that most parents are grateful for the hard work done every day by our state’s incredible teachers. While this campaign is no substitute for much-needed wage increases or smaller class sizes, it’s the least we can do to show our gratitude.”
People are also encouraged to thank their teachers in person.
