PHOENIX — To say downtown Phoenix will be rocking when the NCAA basketball Final Four tournament comes to town next month will be an understatement.
Legendary rock band Aerosmith will headline the three-day Capital One JamFest at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix that will run concurrently with the Final Four games being played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
“We’re pumped to be part of the excitement during the NCAA Men’s Final Four weekend,” Marc Mentry, chief brand officer for Capital One, said in a press release.
Aerosmith is scheduled to play Sunday, April 2 — the final night of the festival — and will be joined by hit artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
The Chainsmokers will headline Saturday’s festivities, which includes a live screening of the first semifinal game.
Entry is free.
More acts are expected to be added to the star-studded lineup.
The music festival is not the only NCAA event happening in downtown Phoenix that weekend.
Final Four Fan Fest will run March 31 through April 3 at the Phoenix Convention Center. The Fan Fest will feature youth clinics, interactive games as well as autograph sessions.
The last event to get started will be the Final Four Dribble on Sunday, April 2 in downtown Phoenix. Thousands of children who registered online will receive basketballs to dribble along a route ending at the Fan Fest entrance.
But there is more than just March Madness sweeping downtown that weekend. The Arizona Diamondbacks will open their season on the afternoon of April 2 and the Phoenix Suns play that same night.
