3 children, 1 woman taken to hospital after multi-vehicle accident in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A multi-vehicle accident in Phoenix injured three children and a young woman on Wednesday, authorities said.

The accident occurred near Bell Road and State Route 51 and involved two cars and five people, with four being taken to the hospital, the Phoenix Fire Department said in a press release.

A 19-year-old woman, an 8-year-old boy and a 4-year-old boy were in critical condition. A 13-year-old boy was in stable condition.

The woman suffered a leg injury, authorities said, while the 8-year-old had a head injury and the 13-year-old had abdominal pain.

The 4-year-old’s injury was not disclosed.

A man also involved in the accident refused evaluation and treatment.

No additional information was available.
